We departed the Florida Keys and headed northwest to spend one night each at Everglades National Park and Collier-Seminole State Park on the Gulf Coast. A stop in Naples, FL for lunch with our KY neighbors, Joe and Sharon Mallek was a highlight. Then we headed about 100 miles north to our present location at Myakka River State Park near Sarasota. Arrival here allowed us to connect with Aliner friends from Knoxville, TN, John and Amy Seagraves. We spent three days visiting together before their departure for home. We’ll be here until Feb. 8th when we head to Highlands Hammock State Park for a week with friends attending “Scamp Camp”.
The weather remains perfect for biking and hiking. Sunny days with highs in the 70’s and cool nights make this paradise for someone like me who hates cold weather.
I'll upload some pictures when we get out of the park and have a better Internet connection.
